Cricut - Birthday Bass Card

Hello Friends! Today I want to share a fish shaped card that I created in Cricut Design Space. This is a birthday card I created with my nephew in mind because he loves to fish. This is a quick and simple card that is a bass (blast) to make...sorry for fish puny. All the images are available in the Cricut Design Space Access Subscription. A link to my YouTube process video and the CDS cut file is available at the end of this post.

The fish image comes from Outdoor Man and measures 10.642" x 4.86"; I used the shadow to create the base of the card. I used Cricut Pearl paper for the body and fins; pictures do not do this paper justice (see the shimmer below). I used a diamond embossing plate to give the illusions of scales and I used an embossing tool to create the lines for the fins and tail; this created more texture. And I added a googly eye to give this little guy some character.

I created a gift card holder for the inside of the card to hold a precious Bass Pro gift card; this is included in the Cricut Design Space cut file and was created from a square shape. The hook is from Go Fish Scrapbook Layout and I used a silver shimmer paper. As you can see above, to create the card I cut out two of the fish shadows and glued the tails together. You can about make any shape into a card. I used kraft cardstock for the card base.

For the sentiment I used the Zig Zag font and chose a writing style and let my Explore do all the work for me.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will give it a try. Again, all the images are available in the Cricut Design Space Access Subscription. I stress this because I get feedback that a crafter may have trouble cutting this out and it is because they don't own the cartridge that is used or don't have the Access Subscription. If you have any questions, please, let me know.
